حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ تَزَوَّجَ رَسُولُ الل
َّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَفِيَّةَ فَقَالَ لَهُ ثَابِتٌ مَا أَصْدَقَهَا قَالَ أَصْدَقَهَا نَفْسَهَا أَعْتَقَهَا وَتَزَوَّجَهَا

English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from Abd al-Aziz, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ married Safiyyah (رضي الله عنها). Thabit asked him: 'What did he give her as dowry?' He said: 'He gave her herself as dowry — he freed her and married her.' And on the road, Umm Sulaym prepared her for him and presented her to him at night.
