حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ وَأَبُو النَّضْرِ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ حَدَّثَنَا جَابِرٌ قَالَ اقْتَتَلَ غُلَامَانِ غُلَامٌ مِنْ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَغُلَامٌ مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ فَقَالَ الْمُهَاجِرِيُّ يَا لَلْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَقَالَ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ يَا
لَلْأَنْصَارِ فَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ أَدَعْوَى الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَقَالُوا لَا وَاللَّهِ إِلَّا أَنَّ غُلَامَيْنِ كَسَعَ أَحَدُهُمَا الْآخَرَ فَقَالَ لَا بَأْسَ لِيَنْصُرْ الرَّجُلُ أَخَاهُ ظَالِمًا أَوْ مَظْلُومًا فَإِنْ كَانَ ظَالِمًا فَلْيَنْهَهُ فَإِنَّهُ لَهُ نُصْرَةٌ وَإِنْ كَانَ مَظْلُومًا فَلْيَنْصُرْهُ

English Translation
Yahya ibn Adam and Abu al-Nadr narrated to us, both said: Zuhayr narrated to us, Abu al-Zubayr informed us, Jabir narrated to us, who said: "Two boys fought — a boy from the Muhajirun and a boy from the Ansar. The Muhajir boy called out: 'O Muhajirun (come help)!' And the Ansari boy called out: 'O Ansar!' the Prophet ﷺ came out and said: 'What is this? The call of Jahiliyyah (pre-Islamic ignorance)?' They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, a boy from the Muhajirun struck a boy from the Ansar.' He said: 'Leave this, for it is repugnant.' 'Abdullah ibn Ubayy heard it and said: 'They have done this? By Allah, when we return to Madinah, the mighty will surely expel the lowly from it.' 'Umar said: 'O Messenger of Allah, let me strike the neck of this hypocrite.' the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Leave him, lest people say that Muhammad kills his companions.'"
