English Translation

Abu Ahmad narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from 'Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn 'Aqil, from Jabir (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ: "He prohibited a man from wrapping himself in a single garment like the ishtimal al-samma' (wrapping the entire body in one garment with no opening for the hands), and from sitting in the ihtiba' position (knees drawn up, wrapped in a single garment) with nothing underneath — as this would expose the private parts."
