حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ أَخْبَرَنِي جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مَعْبَدٍ قَالَ ذَهَبْتُ إِلَى أَنَسِ بْن
ِ مَالِكٍ أَنَا وَحُمَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ فَسَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا قَالَ كُنَّا إِذَا بَايَعْنَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُلَقِّنُنَا هُوَ فِيمَا اسْتَطَعْتَ

English Translation
Affan narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, Ja'far ibn Ma'bad informed me, he said: I went to Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) with Humayd ibn Abd al-Rahman. He said: I heard Anas say: When we used to give the pledge of allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on hearing and obeying, he would say to us: 'In what you are able.'
