حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ السُّلَمِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَخَلْفَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ وَعُثْمَانَ رَضِيَ
اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُمْ فَلَمْ يَكُونُوا يَسْتَفْتِحُونَ الْقِرَاءَةَ بِ { بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ } قَالَ شُعْبَةُ فَقُلْتُ لِقَتَادَةَ أَسَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ نَعَمْ نَحْنُ سَأَلْنَاهُ عَنْهُ

English Translation
Abdullah narrated to us, Abu Abdullah al-Sulami narrated to us, Abu Dawud narrated to us, from Shu'bah, from Qatadah, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) who said: I prayed behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, behind Abu Bakr, behind Umar, and behind Uthman (رضي الله عنهم), and none of them would audibly recite Bismillah al-Rahman al-Rahim.
