Ismāʿīl narrated to us, Ḥajjāj ibn Abī ʿUthmān narrated to us, Abū al-Zubayr narrated to us, he said: I heard ʿAbdullāh ibn al-Zubayr giving a sermon from this pulpit, saying: When the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ gave salām at the end of the prayer, he would say: 'Lā ilāha illā Allāh waḥdahu lā sharīka lah, lahu al-mulk wa lahu al-ḥamd wa huwa ʿalā kulli shayʾin qadīr, lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh, wa lā naʿbudu illā iyyāh, ahla al-niʿmah wal-faḍl wal-thanāʾ al-ḥasan, lā ilāha illā Allāh mukhliṣīna lahu al-dīn wa law kariha al-kāfirūn (There is no god but Allāh alone, with no partner; to Him belongs sovereignty and to Him belongs praise, and He has power over all things; there is no might nor power except through Allāh; we worship none but Him; He is the Lord of grace, bounty, and goodly praise; there is no god but Allāh, being sincere to Him in religion, even if the disbelievers detest it).'
