قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ وَعَفَّانُ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ قَالَ عَفَّانُ فِي حَدِيثِهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُتِيَ بِالنُّعَيْمَانِ أَوْ ابْنِ النُّعَيْمَانِ وَهُوَ سَكْرَانُ قَال
َ فَاشْتَدَّ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَمَرَ مَنْ فِي الْبَيْتِ أَنْ يَضْرِبُوهُ فَضَرَبُوهُ قَالَ عَفَّانُ فِي حَدِيثِهِ فَشَقَّ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَشَقَّةً شَدِيدَةً قَالَ عُقْبَةُ فَكُنْتُ فِيمَنْ ضَرَبَهُ

English Translation
Sulaymān ibn Ḥarb and ʿAffān narrated to us, they said: Wuhayb ibn Khālid narrated to us — ʿAffān said in his narration — Ayyūb narrated to us, from ʿAbdullāh ibn Abī Mulaykah, from ʿUqbah ibn al-Ḥārith: that the Prophet ﷺ was brought al-Nuʿaymān — or Ibn al-Nuʿaymān — while he was drunk. It grieved the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ greatly — ʿAffān said in his narration: It distressed the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ severely — and he ordered whoever was in the house to beat him, and they beat him. ʿUqbah said: I was among those who beat him.
