ʿAbd al-Wahhāb ibn ʿAṭāʾ narrated to us, from Ibn ʿAwn and Saʿīd, from Muḥammad ibn Sīrīn, from Salmān ibn ʿĀmir, from the Prophet ﷺ who said: "With the boy is his ʿaqīqah, so shed blood on his behalf and remove the harm from him." He said: And Ibn Sīrīn used to say: "If the removal of harm does not mean shaving the head, then I do not know what it means."
