حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ عُمَرَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أُمِّ سَل
َمَةَ أَنَّ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ حَدَّثَهُمْ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا أَصَابَتْ أَحَدَكُمْ مُصِيبَةٌ فَلْيَقُلْ { إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ } اللَّهُمَّ عِنْدَكَ أَحْتَسِبُ مُصِيبَتِي فَأْجُرْنِي فِيهَا وَأَبْدِلْنِي بِهَا خَيْرًا مِنْهَا فَلَمَّا قُبِضَ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ خَلَفَنِي اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فِي أَهْلِي خَيْرًا مِنْهُ

English Translation
Rawḥ narrated to us, he said: Ḥammād ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Thābit, he said: Ibn ʿUmar narrated to me, from his father, from Umm Salamah, that Abū Salamah narrated to them that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "When a calamity befalls one of you, let him say: {Indeed, we belong to Allāh and to Him we shall return} [2:156]. O Allāh, I seek my reward with You for my affliction, so grant me reward in it and replace it with something better." When Abū Salamah passed away, Allāh عز وجل replaced for me among my family someone better than him.
