قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ أَنَّ ابْنَ شِهَابٍ أَخْبَرَهُ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنِ الصَّعْبِ بْنِ ج
َثَّامَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قِيلَ لَهُ لَوْ أَنَّ خَيْلًا أَغَارَتْ مِنْ اللَّيْلِ فَأَصَابَتْ مِنْ أَبْنَاءِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ قَالَ هُمْ مِنْ آبَائِهِمْ

English Translation
ʿAbd al-Razzāq narrated to us, he said: Ibn Jurayj informed us, he said: ʿAmr ibn Dīnār informed me that Ibn Shihāb informed him, from ʿUbaydullāh ibn ʿAbdillāh ibn ʿUtbah, from Ibn ʿAbbās, from al-Ṣaʿb ibn Jaththāmah, that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ was asked: 'What if cavalry raids at night and strikes some of the children of the polytheists?' He said: 'They are from their fathers.'
