English Translation

He (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that i read to ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Mahdī: Mālik ibn Anas, from ʿAmr ibn Yaḥyā al-Māzinī, from his father, that his grandfather said to ʿAbdullāh ibn Zayd ibn ʿĀṣim — who was among the Companions of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ: 'Can you show me how the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ used to perform wuḍūʾ?' ʿAbdullāh ibn Zayd said: 'Yes.' He called for water and poured it over his hands, washing his hands twice. Then he rinsed his mouth and cleaned his nose three times. Then he washed his face three times. Then he washed his arms twice up to the elbows. Then he wiped his head with both hands, bringing them forward and back — starting from the front of his head, then taking them to the back of his neck, then bringing them back to where he started. Then he washed his feet.
