حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ عِيسَى أَبُو بِشْرٍ الْبَصْرِيُّ الرَّاسِبِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ قَالَ

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَالِكٍ الْأَشْجَعِيُّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي وَسَأَلْتُهُ فَقَالَ كَانَ خِضَابُنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْوَرْسَ وَالزَّعْفَرَانَ

English Translation
Bakr ibn ʿĪsā Abū Bishr al-Baṣrī al-Rāsibī narrated to us, he said: Abū ʿAwānah narrated to us, he said: Abū Mālik al-Ashjaʿī narrated to us, he said: I heard my father — and I asked him — and he said: Our dye during the time of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ was Wars and saffron.
