‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏سُفْيَانَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي حَارِثَةَ ‏ ‏أَنَّ رَجُلًا ‏ ‏وَجَأَ ‏ ‏نَاقَةً فِي ‏ ‏لَبَّتِهَا ‏ ‏بِوَتِدٍ وَخَشِيَ أَنْ تَفُوتَهُ فَسَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏فَأَمَرَهُ ‏ ‏أَوْ أَمَرَهُمْ ‏ ‏بِأَكْلِهَا ‏

English Translation

It was narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'A man should not beg while he possesses an uqiyyah (forty dirhams) or its equivalent, for if he does he is begging importunately.'
