English Translation
It was narrated from Suhayb (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was sitting with his companions when he smiled and said: 'Will you not ask me why I smiled?' They said: 'Why did you smile, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'I am amazed at the affair of the believer — all of his affairs are good for him, and that applies only to the believer. If something good befalls him, he is thankful and that is good for him. And if something harmful befalls him, he is patient and that is good for him.'
