It was narrated from Awf ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that Awf ibn Malik entered the mosque of Hims and saw the people gathered around a man. He asked: 'What is this gathering?' They said: 'Ka'b is storytelling.' He said: 'Woe to him! Did he not hear the Prophet ﷺ say: "Whoever tells stories (for entertainment) in the mosque, Allah will not accept his prayer that day"?'
