English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that al-Miswar ibn Makhramah and Ibn Abbas disagreed about whether a person in ihram may wash his head. Ibn Abbas said he may wash it, and al-Miswar said he may not. They sent me to Abu Ayyub, and he poured water over his head, passing his hands forward and backward over it, then said: 'This is how I saw the Prophet ﷺ do it.'
