حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَع

ِيدٍ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مَنْصُورٌ عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ الْآيَاتُ الْأَوَاخِرُ مِنْ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ قَرَأَهُنَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى النَّاسِ وَحَرَّمَ التِّجَارَةَ فِي الْخَمْرِ

English Translation

It was narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the last verses of Surah al-Baqarah were revealed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited them to the people and thereby forbade trade in wine.
