حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ إِنَّ حَمْزَةَ الْأَسْلَمِيَّ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى

اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الصَّوْمِ فِي السَّفَرِ وَكَانَ رَجُلًا يَسْرُدُ الصَّوْمَ فَقَالَ أَنْتَ بِالْخِيَارِ إِنْ شِئْتَ فَصُمْ وَإِنْ شِئْتَ فَأَفْطِرْ

English Translation

It was narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that she was asked about fasting during travel by a man who fasted continuously. She said the Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied: 'The choice is yours — if you wish, fast; and if you wish, break your fast.'
