Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْقُدُّوسِ بْنُ بَكْرٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعِنْدِي امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ بَنِي أَسَدِ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ فَقَال
َ مَنْ هَذِهِ قُلْتُ هَذِهِ فُلَانَةٌ وَهِيَ تَقُومُ اللَّيْلَ أَوْ لَا تَنَامُ اللَّيْلَ قَالَ فَكَرِهَ ذَلِكَ حَتَّى رَأَيْتُ الْكَرَاهِيَةَ فِي وَجْهِهِ فَقَالَ عَلَيْكُمْ مِنْ الْعَمَلِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَا يَمَلُّ حَتَّى تَمَلُّوا

English Translation
It was narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: 'I told him about a woman who prays throughout the night and does not sleep. He disapproved of that until I could see the displeasure on his face. Then he said: "You must take on only as much worship as you are able, for Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, does not tire until you tire."'
