Hadith #52
Arabic Text
قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا سَلِيمُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ مِينَاءَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ يَقُ
ولُ حَدَّثَتْنِي خَالَتِي عَائِشَةُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَهَا لَوْلَا أَنَّ قَوْمَكِ حَدِيثُ عَهْدٍ بِشِرْكٍ أَوْ بِجَاهِلِيَّةٍ لَهَدَمْتُ الْكَعْبَةَ فَأَلْزَقْتُهَا بِالْأَرْضِ وَجَعَلْتُ لَهَا بَابَيْنِ بَابًا شَرْقِيًّا وَبَابًا غَرْبِيًّا وَزِدْتُ فِيهَا مِنْ الْحَجَرِ سِتَّةَ أَذْرُعٍ فَإِنَّ قُرِيْشًا اقْتَصَرَتْهَا حِينَ بَنَتْ الْكَعْبَةَ

English Translation
It was narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to her: "Were it not that your people have only recently left polytheism, I would demolish the Ka'bah, level it to the ground, give it two doors — one to the east and one to the west — and extend it by six cubits from the Hijr, for the Quraysh had shortened it when they built the Ka'bah."
