Hadith #132
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ خُبَيْبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ
عَنْ عَمَّتِهِ قَالَتْ إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ ابْنَ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ أَوْ بِلَالًا يُنَادِي بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُنَادِيَ بِلَالٌ أَوْ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ فَمَا كَانَ إِلَّا أَنْ يُؤَذِّنَ أَحَدُهُمَا وَيَصْعَدَ الْآخَرُ فَنَأْخُذَهُ بِيَدِهِ وَنَقُولَ كَمَا أَنْتَ حَتَّى نَتَسَحَّرَ

English Translation
It was narrated from a woman of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Ibn Umm Maktum — or Bilal — calls the adhan at night, so eat and drink until Bilal — or Ibn Umm Maktum — calls." As soon as one of them gave the adhan and the other went up, we would take him by the hand and say: 'Stay still until we finish our suhur.'"
