Hadith #195
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنِ ثَابِتٍ أَوْ عَنْ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ أَنَّ رَجُلًا دَخَلَ مَسْجِدَ دِمَشْقَ فَقَالَ اللَّهُمَّ آنِسْ وَحْشَتِي وَارْحَمْ غُرْبَتِي وَارْزُقْنِي جَلِيسًا حَبِيبًا صَالِحًا فَسَمِعَهُ أَبُو الدَّرْدَ
اءِ فَقَالَ لَئِنْ كُنْتَ صَادِقًا لَأَنَا أَسْعَدُ بِمَا قُلْتَ مِنْكَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ { فَمِنْهُمْ ظَالِمٌ لِنَفْسِهِ } قَالَ الظَّالِمُ يُؤْخَذُ مِنْهُ فِي مَقَامِهِ فَذَلِكَ الْهَمُّ وَالْحَزَنُ { وَمِنْهُمْ مُقْتَصِدٌ } يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا يَسِيرًا { وَمِنْهُمْ سَابِقٌ بِالْخَيْرَاتِ } فَذَلِكَ الَّذِينَ يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu al-Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say regarding the verse: "Of them is he who wrongs himself" — he said: "The wrongdoer is seized in his standing place — that is the grief and sorrow. 'And of them is he who follows a middle course' — he is held to account with an easy reckoning. 'And of them is he who outstrips others in good deeds' — those are the ones who will enter Paradise without reckoning."
