حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ حَدَّثَنِي شَهْرُ بْنُ حَوْشَبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَتْنِي أَ
سْمَاءُ بِنْتُ يَزِيدَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ الْخَيْلُ فِي نَوَاصِيهَا الْخَيْرُ مَعْقُودٌ أَبَدًا إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ فَمَنْ رَبَطَهَا عُدَّةً فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَأَنْفَقَ عَلَيْهَا احْتِسَابًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّ شِبَعَهَا وَجُوعَهَا وَرِيَّهَا وَظَمَأَهَا وَأَرْوَاثَهَا وَأَبْوَالَهَا فَلَاحٌ فِي مَوَازِينِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَمَنْ رَبَطَهَا رِيَاءً وَسُمْعَةً وَفَرَحًا وَمَرَحًا فَإِنَّ شِبَعَهَا وَجُوعَهَا وَرِيَّهَا وَظَمَأَهَا وَأَرْوَاثَهَا وَأَبْوَالَهَا خُسْرَانٌ فِي مَوَازِينِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

English Translation
It was narrated from Asma bint Yazid (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Goodness is permanently tied to the forelocks of horses until the Day of Resurrection. Whoever ties a horse as preparation in the way of Allah and spends on it seeking reward in the way of Allah — its fullness, its hunger, its quenching, its thirst, its dung, and its urine will be success in his scale on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever ties it out of show and pride and joy — its fullness, hunger, quenching, and thirst will be a loss in his scale."
