‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَبْد اللَّهِ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏جَابِرٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏عَلِيٍّ ‏ ‏رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ‏ ‏أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏كَانَ ‏ ‏يَصُومُ ‏ ‏يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ ‏ ‏وَيَأْمُرُ بِهِ ‏

English Translation

It was narrated from Abu `Abdur-Rahman, from `Ali (رضي الله عنه), that the Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever tells a lie about his eyes (i.e., claims to have seen something in his dream that he did not see) will be commanded to tie the two ends of a grain of barley on the Day of Resurrection.”
