حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ عَنْ م
ُطَرِّفٍ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ ضَمْرَةَ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُوتِرُ فِي أَوَّلِ اللَّيْلِ وَفِي أَوْسَطِهِ وَفِي آخِرِهِ ثُمَّ ثَبَتَ لَهُ الْوَتْرُ فِي آخِرِهِ

English Translation
It was narrated that Abu `Abdur-Rahman said: I heard ‘Ali (رضي الله عنه) say: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “When a person sits in the place where he prayed after praying the angels send blessings upon him, and their blessings upon him are: O Allah, forgive him. O Allah have mercy on him. And if he sits waiting for the prayer, the angels send blessings upon him, and their blessings upon him are: O Allah, forgive him, O Allah have mercy on him.
