Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ خ
َطَبَ رَجُلٌ يَوْمَ الْبَصْرَةِ حِينَ ظَهَرَ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَقَالَ عَلِيٌّ هَذَا الْخَطِيبُ الشَّحْشَحُ سَبَقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَصَلَّى أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَثَلَّثَ عُمَرُ ثُمَّ خَبَطَتْنَا فِتْنَةٌ بَعْدَهُمْ يَصْنَعُ اللَّهُ فِيهَا مَا شَاءَ

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Salih al-Hanafi (may Allah be pleased with him) that It was said to ‘Ali and Abu Bakr (رضي الله عنهما) on the day of Badr. Jibreel is with one of you and Mika`eel is with the other, and Israfeel, a mighty angel, is present at the fight - or he said, is present in the ranks.
