حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دَاوُدَ عَنْ نُع
َيْمِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ عَنْ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ كَانَ عَلَى الْكَعْبَةِ أَصْنَامٌ فَذَهَبْتُ لِأَحْمِلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَيْهَا فَلَمْ أَسْتَطِعْ فَحَمَلَنِي فَجَعَلْتُ أَقْطَعُهَا وَلَوْ شِئْتُ لَنِلْتُ السَّمَاءَ

English Translation
`Ali bin Abi Talib (رضي الله عنه) narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Some people will pass out of Islam as the arrow passes out of the prey. They will recite the Qur`an but it will go no further than their collar bones. Glad tidings to the one who kills them and they kill him. Their sign will be a man with a deformed arm.
