حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ ا

للَّهِ مَا لَكَ تَنَوَّقُ فِي قُرَيْشٍ وَلَا تَزَوَّجُ إِلَيْنَا قَالَ وَعِنْدَكَ شَيْءٌ قَالَ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ ابْنَةُ حَمْزَةَ قَالَ تِلْكَ ابْنَةُ أَخِي مِنْ الرَّضَاعَةِ

English Translation

It was narrated that ‘Ali bin Abi Talib (رضي الله عنه) said: A mule was given to the Prophet ﷺ as a gift. Some of his Companions said: Why don`t we get animals like this? He said: `Do you want to mate a donkey with a mare? That is only done by those who do not know.”
