English Translation

It was narrated from Abdullah ibn Salamah — or Maslamah (Kathir said: 'My recollection is Salamah') — from Ali or az-Zubair, who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to deliver sermons to us and remind us of the days of Allah until we could see it in his face, as though he were a warner to a people whom the matter would reach in the morning. And when he spoke of recent events, he would be as one smiling with joy, and when he mentioned the Fire, we could see him seeking refuge as though it would afflict him.
