أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ رَجُلٍ سَمِعَ عَلِيًّا رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَخْطُبَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ابْنَتَهُ فَقُلْتُ مَا لِي مِنْ شَيْءٍ فَكَيْفَ ثُمَّ ذَكَرْتُ صِلَ
تَهُ وَعَائِدَتَهُ فَخَطَبْتُهَا إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ هَلْ لَكَ مِنْ شَيْءٍ قُلْتُ لَا قَالَ فَأَيْنَ دِرْعُكَ الْحُطَمِيَّةُ الَّتِي أَعْطَيْتُكَ يَوْمَ كَذَا وَكَذَا قَالَ هِيَ عِنْدِي قَالَ فَأَعْطِهَا إِيَّاهُ

English Translation
It was narrated from `Ali (رضي الله عنه) that Fatimah came to the Prophet ﷺ to ask him for a servant. He said: “Shall I not tell you of something that is better for you than that? Say Subhanallah thirty-three times, Allahu Akbar thirty-three times and Alhamdulillah thirty-three times; one of them thirty-four times.`
