Hadith #4

Arabic Text

وَحَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ فِي الْكَلْبِ الْمُعَلَّمِ كُلْ مَا أَمْسَكَ عَلَيْكَ إِنْ قَتَلَ وَإِنْ لَمْ يَقْتُلْ ‏.‏

English Translation

It was narrated from Abdullah ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that he used to say regarding the trained hunting dog: 'Eat what it catches for you, whether it kills or does not kill.'
