The Book of Cutting off the Hand of the Thief
Arabic Text
أَخْبَرَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الأَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ حَىٍّ
، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، وَمُجَاهِدٍ، عَنْ أَيْمَنَ، قَالَ يُقْطَعُ السَّارِقُ فِي ثَمَنِ الْمِجَنِّ وَكَانَ ثَمَنُ الْمِجَنِّ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم دِينَارًا أَوْ عَشْرَةَ دَرَاهِمَ .

English Translation
Ayman (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that "The (hand of) a thief is to be cut off for the price of a shield, and the price of a shield during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was a Dinar, or ten Dirhams." (Daif)
