The Book of Adornment

أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ اتَّخَذَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم خَاتَمَ الذَّهَبِ ف
َلَبِسَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَاتَّخَذَ النَّاسُ خَوَاتِيِمَ الذَّهَبِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " إِنِّي كُنْتُ أَلْبَسُ هَذَا الْخَاتَمَ وَإِنِّي لَنْ أَلْبَسَهُ أَبَدًا " . فَنَبَذَهُ فَنَبَذَ النَّاسُ خَوَاتِيمَهُمْ .

English Translation
Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that "the Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAW] started to wear a gold ring, and the people started to wear gold rings. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAW] said: 'I was wearing this ring, but I will never wear it again.' He threw it away and the people threw their rings away
