Chapter: What Rasoolullah Would Eat with Bread

ما جاء في إدام رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

Arabic Text

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، قَالَ‏:‏ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ وَائِلِ بْنِ دَاوُدَ، عَنِ ابْنِهِ، وَهُوَ بَكْرُ بْنُ وَائِلٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ‏:‏ أَوْلَمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَلَى صَفِيَّةَ بِتَمْرٍ وَسَوِيقٍ‏.‏

English Translation

Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that "Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) gave a wedding banquet for Safiyya consisting of dried dates and parched barley.”
