Hadith #74
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُوسَى الْفَزَارِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ خُثَيْمٍ، عَنْ حَنْظَلَةَ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ، كَانَ يَقُولُ لِلرَّجُلِ إِذَا أَرَادَ سَفَرًا ادْنُ مِنِّي أُوَدِّعْكَ كَمَا كَانَ ر
َسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يُوَدِّعُنَا . فَيَقُولُ " أَسْتَوْدِعُ اللَّهَ دِينَكَ وَأَمَانَتَكَ وَخَوَاتِيمَ عَمَلِكَ " . قَالَ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ .

English Translation
Salim narrated that :when he intended to undertake a journey, Ibn `Umar used to say to a person to “Come close to me so that I may bid you farewell as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to bid us farewell.” Then he would say: “I entrust to Allah your religion, and your trusts, and the last of your deeds (Astawdi`ullāha dīnaka wa amānataka wa khawātīma `amalik).”
