The Hanafi counterpart to as-Suyuti's work on legal maxims. Ibn Nujaym systematizes Hanafi fiqh around general principles, showing how the five universal maxims and dozens of subsidiary rules organize the entire body of Hanafi law. The Majallat al-Ahkam al-Adliyyah (Ottoman Civil Code) drew heavily on this work.
