English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) that they were with the Prophet ﷺ when he went to relieve himself. When he came back, food was brought to him. It was said: 'Will you not perform ablution?' He said: 'Am I going to pray? Should I perform ablution?' — indicating that ablution is not required simply for eating.
