أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِي

رٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، أَوْ عِكْرِمَةُ ، قَالَ : كَانَتْ زَيْنَبُ تَعْتَكِفُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهِيَ تُرِيقُ الدَّمَ، فَأَمَرَهَا أَنْ" تَغْتَسِلَ عِنْدَ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ "

English Translation
Al-Sha'bi said regarding the waiting period of the woman with irregular bleeding: 'She waits three months, for she cannot determine her periods; the three months take the place of three periods.'
