Hadith #464
Arabic Text
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يُونُسَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ" أَنَّ الْيَهُودَ قَالُوا لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ : مَنْ أَتَى امْرَأَتَهُ وَهِيَ مُدْبِرَةٌ، جَاءَ وَلَدُهُ أَحْوَلَ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى : # نِسَاؤُكُمْ حَرْثٌ لَكُمْ فَأْتُوا حَرْثَكُمْ أَنَّى شِئْتُمْ سورة البقرة آية 223 # "
English Translation
It was narrated from Jabir ibn Abdullah al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Jews used to say that if a man approaches his wife from behind, the child would be cross-eyed. Then the Quranic verse was revealed: 'Your wives are a tilth for you, so approach your tilth as you will' — clarifying that different positions are permissible as long as intercourse is in the vagina.
