Hadith #1705
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ ، ع
َنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ" يُسَابِقُ بَيْنَ الْخَيْلِ الْمُضَمَّرَةِ مِنْ الْحَفْيَاءِ إِلَى الثَّنِيَّةِ، وَالَّتِي لَمْ تُضَمَّرْ مِنَ الثَّنِيَّةِ إِلَى مَسْجِدِ بَنِي زُرَيْقٍ ، وَأَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ كَانَ فِيمَنْ سَابَقَ بِهَا "

English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would race horses that had been trained from al-Hafya' to al-Thaniyyah, and those that had not been trained from al-Thaniyyah to Masjid Bani Zurayq. Ibn Umar said: I was among those who raced.
