Arabic Text
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ ، حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ عُلَيِّ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ ا
لْأَنْصَارِيِّ : أَنَّ رَجُلًا، قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنِّي أُرِيدُ أَنْ أَشْتَرِيَ فَرَسًا، فَأَيُّهَا أَشْتَرِي؟. قَالَ :" اشْتَرِ أَدْهَمَ، أَرْثَمَ، مُحَجَّلًا، طَلْقَ الْيَدِ الْيُمْنَى، أَوِ مِنَ الْكُمَيْتِ عَلَى هَذِهِ الشِّيَةِ، تَغْنَمْ وَتَسْلَمْ "

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Qatadah al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man said: O Messenger of Allah, I want to buy a horse for campaigning — which should I buy? He said: 'Buy the one with the long blazed forehead, four white stockings, and a white patch on its nose — for that is the best kind.'
