أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذ
َا أَمَّرَ رَجُلًا عَلَى سَرِيَّةٍ أَوْصَاهُ فِي خَاصَّةِ نَفْسِهِ بِتَقْوَى اللَّهِ، وَبِمَنْ مَعَهُ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ خَيْرًا، وَقَالَ :" اغْزُوا بِسْمِ اللَّهِ، وَفِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ، قَاتِلُوا مَنْ كَفَرَ بِاللَّهِ، اغْزُوا وَلَا تَغْدِرُوا، وَلَا تَغُلُّوا، وَلَا تُمَثِّلُوا، وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا وَلِيدًا "

English Translation
It was narrated from Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ appointed a man over an expedition, he would advise him privately to fear Allah and to treat the Muslims with him well, and say: 'Fight in the name of Allah and in the cause of Allah. Fight those who disbelieve in Allah. Fight and do not break pledges, do not take spoils unlawfully, do not mutilate, and do not kill a child.'
