Hadith #1816
Arabic Text
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ ، وَثَابِتٍ ، وَقَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : غَلَا السِّعْرُ عَلَى عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ ص
َلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ النَّاسُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ غَلَا السِّعْرُ فَسَعِّرْ لَنَا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْخَالِقُ الْقَابِضُ الْبَاسِطُ الرَّازِقُ، الْمُسَعِّرُ، وَإِنِّي أَرْجُو أَنْ أَلْقَى رَبِّي وَلَيْسَ أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ يَطْلُبُنِي بِمَظْلَمَةٍ ظَلَمْتُهَا إِيَّاهُ بِدَمٍ وَلَا مَالٍ "

English Translation
It was narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that prices rose in the time of the Prophet ﷺ, and the people said: O Messenger of Allah, prices have risen, set prices for us. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Verily Allah is the Originator, the Withholder, the Expander, the Provider, the Price-Setter. I hope to meet my Lord while none of you seeks from me recompense for a wrong I did to him in blood or wealth.'
