أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا ، عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النُّعْمَانَ بْنَ بَشِيرٍ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ :" الْحَلَالُ بَيِّنٌ وَالْحَرَامُ بَيِّنٌ، وَبَيْنَهُمَا مُتَشَابِهَاتٌ، لَا يَعْلَمُهَا كَثِيرٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ فَمَنْ اتَّقَى الشُّبُهَاتِ، اسْتَبْرَأَ لِعِرْضِهِ وَدِينِهِ، وَمَنْ وَقَعَ فِي الشُّبُهَاتِ، وَقَعَ فِي الْحَرَامِ، كَالرَّاعِي يَرْعَى حَوْلَ الْحِمَى فَيُوشِكُ أَنْ يُوَاقِعَهُ، وَإِنَّ لِكُلِّ مَلِكٍ حِمًى، أَلَا وَإِنَّ حِمَى اللَّهِ مَحَارِمُهُ، أَلَا وَإِنَّ فِي الْجَسَدِ مُضْغَةً، إِذَا صَلَحَتْ ، صَلَحَ الْجَسَدُ كُلُّهُ، وَإِذَا فَسَدَتْ، فَسَدَ الْجَسَدُ كُلُّهُ، أَلَا وَهِيَ الْقَلْبُ "

It was narrated from al-Nu'man ibn Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The lawful is clear and the unlawful is clear, and between them are ambiguous matters that many people do not know. Whoever avoids the ambiguous things safeguards his honor and religion; whoever falls into ambiguous things falls into the forbidden, like a shepherd grazing near a protected pasture, likely to graze in it. Every king has a protected area, and Allah's protected area is His prohibitions. Indeed there is in the body a piece of flesh: if it is sound, all the body is sound, and if it is corrupt, all the body is corrupt. Indeed it is the heart.'

أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ بُرَيْدِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْحَوْرَاءِ السَّعْدِيِّ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ لِلْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ : مَا تَحْفَظُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟. قَالَ : سَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ عَنْ مَسْأَلَةٍ لَا أَدْرِي مَا هِيَ، فَقَالَ :" دَعْ مَا يَرِيبُكَ إِلَى مَا لَا يَرِيبُكَ "

It was narrated from al-Hasan ibn Ali (may Allah be pleased with them) that a man asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about something and he said: 'Leave what makes you doubt for what does not make you doubt.'

حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ الزُّبَيْرِ أَبِي عَبْدِ السَّلَامِ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مِكْرَزٍ الْفِهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ وَابِصَةَ بْنِ مَعْبَدٍ الْأَسَدِيِّ : أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ لِوَابِصَةَ : " جِئْتَ تَسْأَلُ عَنِ الْبِرِّ وَالْإِثْمِ؟ ". قَالَ : قُلْتُ : نَعَمْ. قَالَ : فَجَمَعَ أَصَابِعَهُ فَضَرَبَ بِهَا صَدْرَهُ، وَقَالَ :" اسْتَفْتِ نَفْسَكَ. اسْتَفْتِ قَلْبَكَ يَا وَابِصَةُ ثَلَاثًا الْبِرُّ مَا اطْمَأَنَّتْ إِلَيْهِ النَّفْسُ وَاطْمَأَنَّ إِلَيْهِ الْقَلْبُ، وَالْإِثْمُ مَا حَاكَ فِي النَّفْسِ وَتَرَدَّدَ فِي الصَّدْرِ، وَإِنْ أَفْتَاكَ النَّاسُ وَأَفْتَوْكَ "

It was narrated from Wabisah ibn Ma'bad al-Asadi (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: 'Did you come to ask about righteousness and sin?' He said: Yes. So he gathered his fingers and struck his chest with them, saying: 'Consult yourself. Consult your heart, O Wabisah' — three times. 'Righteousness is what the soul is at ease with and the heart is at ease with. And sin is what disturbs the soul and wavers in the chest, even if people give you a legal opinion and do so.'

حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مِنْهَالٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي حُرَّةَ الرَّقَاشِيِّ ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ آخِذًا بِزِمَامِ نَاقَةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي أَوْسَطِ أَيَّامِ التَّشْرِيقِ أَذُودُ النَّاسَ عَنْهُ، فَقَالَ :" أَلَا إِنَّ كُلَّ رِبًا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ مَوْضُوعٌ، أَلَا وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ قَضَى أَنَّ أَوَّلَ رِبًا يُوضَعُ رِبَا عَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ، لَكُمْ رُءُوسُ أَمْوَالِكُمْ لَا تَظْلِمُونَ وَلَا تُظْلَمُونَ "

It was narrated from the uncle of Abu Hurrrah al-Raqashi (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I was holding the reins of the she-camel of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the middle of the days of Tashriq, keeping people away from him. He said: 'Beware! All usury from the pre-Islamic era is cancelled. Beware! Allah has decreed that the first usury to be cancelled is the usury of Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib. Your principal is yours — neither wronging nor being wronged.'

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي قَيْسٍ ، عَنْ هُزَيْلٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَآكِلَ الرِّبَا وَمُؤْكِلَهُ "

It was narrated from Abdullah (ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ cursed the one who consumes usury and the one who pays it.

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يُونُسَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ : أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ :" لَيَأْتِيَنَّ زَمَانٌ لَا يُبَالِي الْمَرْءُ بِمَا أَخَذَ الْمَالَ، بِحَلَالٍ أَمْ بِحَرَامٍ "

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'A time will certainly come upon people when a man will not care whether he takes money from lawful or unlawful sources.'

أَخْبَرَنَا قَبِيصَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ عَمَّتِهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" إِنَّ أَحَقَّ مَا يَأْكُلُ الرَّجُلُ مِنْ أَطْيَبِ كَسْبِهِ، وَإِنَّ وَلَدَهُ مِنْ أَطْيَبِ كَسْبِهِ "

It was narrated from Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The most rightful thing a man eats is from what he earns through his own efforts, and his child is part of what he earns.'

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ هُوَ : ابْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ خُثَيْمٍ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيل بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ ، قَالَ : خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى الْبَقِيعِ ، فَقَالَ : " يَا مَعْشَرَ التُّجَّارِ ! " حَتَّى إِذَا اشْرَأَبُّوا. قَالَ :" التُّجَّارُ يُحْشَرُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فُجَّارًا، إِلَّا مَنِ اتَّقَى اللَّهَ، وَبَرَّ، وَصَدَقَ ". قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ : كَانَ أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، يَقُولُ : عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ رِفَاعَةَ، وَإِنَّمَا هُوَ : إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ

It was narrated from Rifa'ah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out to the marketplace and said: 'O merchants!' When they looked up, he said: 'Merchants will be raised on the Day of Resurrection as evildoers, except those who feared Allah and were righteous and truthful.'

أَخْبَرَنَا قَبِيصَةُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ :" التَّاجِرُ الصَّدُوقُ الْأَمِينُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّينَ وَالصِّدِّيقِينَ وَالشُّهَدَاءِ ". قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ : لَا عِلْمَ لِي بِهِ إِنَّ الْحَسَنَ سَمِعَ مِنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، وَقَالَ : أَبُو حَمْزَةَ هَذَا، هُوَ صَاحِبُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَهُوَ : مَيْمُونٌ الْأَعْوَرُ

It was narrated from Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'The truthful, trustworthy merchant will be with the prophets, the righteous, and the martyrs.'

حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَى بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ ، عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " بَايَعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَىإِقَامِ الصَّلَاةِ، وَإِيتَاءِ الزَّكَاةِ، وَالنُّصْحِ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ "

It was narrated from Jarir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: 'I pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to establish the prayer, give the zakah, and give sincere counsel to every Muslim.'

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّلْتِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَقِيلٍ : يَحْيَى بْنُ الْمُتَوَكِّلِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ : أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّ بِطَعَامٍ بِسُوقِ الْمَدِينَةِ فَأَعْجَبَهُ حُسْنُهُ، فَأَدْخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدَهُ فِي جَوْفِهِ، فَأَخْرَجَ شَيْئًا لَيْسَ كَالظَّاهِرِ فَأَفَّفَ بِصَاحِبِ الطَّعَامِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ :" لَا غِشَّ بَيْنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ، مَنْ غَشَّنَا فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا "

It was narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by some food in the market of Medina and was pleased by its appearance. He put his hand inside it and pulled out something different from what appeared on top. He rebuked the owner of the food, then said: 'There is no deception between Muslims. Whoever deceives us is not of us.'

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا وَائِلٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ :" لِكُلِّ غَادِرٍ لِوَاءٌ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يُقَالُ : هَذِهِ غَدْرَةُ فُلَانٍ "

It was narrated from Abdullah (ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'Every traitor will have a banner on the Day of Resurrection; it will be said: This is the betrayal of so-and-so.'

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، عَنْ مَعْمَرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نَافِعِ بْنِ نَضْلَةَ الْعَدَوِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ :" لَا يَحْتَكِرُ إِلَّا خَاطِئٌ مَرَّتَيْنِ "

It was narrated from Ma'mar ibn Abdullah al-Adawi (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'None hoards except a sinner' — he said it twice.

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ جُدْعَانَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ :" الْجَالِبُ مَرْزُوقٌ، وَالْمُحْتَكِرُ مَلْعُونٌ "

It was narrated from Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'The one who imports goods is blessed with provision, and the one who hoards is cursed.'

أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ ، وَثَابِتٍ ، وَقَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : غَلَا السِّعْرُ عَلَى عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ النَّاسُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ غَلَا السِّعْرُ فَسَعِّرْ لَنَا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْخَالِقُ الْقَابِضُ الْبَاسِطُ الرَّازِقُ، الْمُسَعِّرُ، وَإِنِّي أَرْجُو أَنْ أَلْقَى رَبِّي وَلَيْسَ أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ يَطْلُبُنِي بِمَظْلَمَةٍ ظَلَمْتُهَا إِيَّاهُ بِدَمٍ وَلَا مَالٍ "

It was narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that prices rose in the time of the Prophet ﷺ, and the people said: O Messenger of Allah, prices have risen, set prices for us. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Verily Allah is the Originator, the Withholder, the Expander, the Provider, the Price-Setter. I hope to meet my Lord while none of you seeks from me recompense for a wrong I did to him in blood or wealth.'

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَنْصُورُ بْنُ الْمُعْتَمِرِ ، عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ : أَنَّ حُذَيْفَةَ حَدَّثَهُمْ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" تَلَقَّتِ الْمَلَائِكَةُ رُوحَ رَجُلٍ مِمَّنْ قَبْلَكُمْ، فَقَالُوا : أَعَمِلْتَ مِنَ الْخَيْرِ شَيْئًا؟، فَقَالَ : لَا، قَالُوا : تَذَكَّرْ. قَالَ : كُنْتُ أُدَايِنُ النَّاسَ فَآمُرُ فِتْيَانِي أَنْ يُنْظِرُوا الْمُعْسِرَ، وَيَتَجَاوَزُوا عَنِ الْمُوسِرِ ". قَالَ : " قَالَ اللَّهُ : تَجَاوَزُوا عَنْهُ "

It was narrated from Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The angels received the soul of a man from before you and said: Did you do any good? He said: No. They said: Think. He said: I used to lend to people and would order my servants to give respite to the one in difficulty and overlook the debt of the one in ease. Allah said: Overlook him.'

أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ صَالِحٍ أَبِي الْخَلِيلِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ حِزَامٍ : أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ :" الْبَيِّعَانِ بِالْخِيَارِ مَا لَمْ يَتَفَرَّقَا فَإِنْ صَدَقَا وَبَيَّنَا، بُورِكَ لَهُمَا فِي بَيْعِهِمَا، وَإِنْ كَذَبَا وَكَتَمَا، مُحِقَ بَرَكَةُ بَيْعِهِمَا ". أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، بِإِسْنَادِهِ مِثْلَهُ

It was narrated from Hakim ibn Hizam (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The buyer and seller have the option to revoke while they have not yet parted. If they are truthful and both make things clear, their transaction will be blessed; but if they lie and conceal, the blessing of their transaction will be erased.'

أَخْبَرَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ :" الْبَيِّعَانِ إِذَا اخْتَلَفَا وَالْمَبيعُ قَائِمٌ بِعَيْنِهِ، وَلَيْسَ بَيْنَهُمَا بَيِّنَةٌ، فَالْقَوْلُ مَا قَالَ الْبَائِعُ، أَوْ يَتَرَادَّانِ الْبَيْعَ "

It was narrated from Abdullah (ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'When the buyer and seller differ and the item is still present, and there is no witness between them, the word is that of the seller, or they may cancel the sale.'

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الرَّقَاشِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ هُوَ : ابْنُ إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ شِمَاسَةَ ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ :" لَا يَحِلُّ لِامْرِئٍ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ أَنْ يَبِيعَ عَلَى بَيْعِ أَخِيهِ حَتَّى يَتْرُكَهُ "

It was narrated from Uqbah ibn Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'It is not lawful for a man who believes in Allah and the Last Day to sell on top of his brother's sale until he leaves it.'

حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ : أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ :" عُهْدَةُ الرَّقِيقِ ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ "

It was narrated from Uqbah ibn Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'The warranty period for a slave is three days.'

أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، عَنْ هَمَّامٍ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ الْعَامِرِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" عُهْدَةُ الرَّقِيقِ ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ ". فَفَسَّرَهُ قَتَادَةُ : إِنْ وَجَدَ فِي الثَّلَاثِ عَيْبًا رَدَّهُ بِغَيْرِ بَيِّنَةٍ، وَإِنْ وَجَدَهُ بَعْدَ ثَلاثَةٍ، لَمْ يَرُدَّهُ إِلَّا بِبَيِّنَةٍ

It was narrated from Uqbah ibn Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'The warranty period for a slave is three days.' Qatadah explained it: If a defect is found within three days, the slave may be returned without needing a witness; if found after three days, it cannot be returned without a witness.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ هُوَ : ابْنُ حَسَّانَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" مَنِ اشْتَرَى شَاةً مُصَرَّاةً أَوْ لَقْحَةً مُصَرَّاةً، فَهُوَ بِالْخِيَارِ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ، فَإِنْ رَدَّهَا، رَدَّ مَعَهَا صَاعًا مِنْ طَعَامٍ لَا سَمْرَاءَ "

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever buys a she-goat or she-camel whose milk has been held back, has the choice for three days; if he returns it, he must return with it a sa' of food — not wheat.'

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى الْقَطَّانُ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْبَيْعِ الْغَرَرِ "

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade transactions involving uncertainty.

أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْبَيْعِ الثِّمَارِ حَتَّى يَبْدُوَ صَلَاحُهَا، نَهَى الْبَائِعَ وَالْمُشْتَرِيَ "

It was narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade selling fruits until their ripeness becomes apparent; he forbade both the seller and the buyer.

أَخْبَرَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ : أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ :" مَنِ ابْتَاعَ ثَمَرَةً فَأَصَابَتْهُ جَائِحَةٌ، فَلَا يَأْخُذَنَّ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا. بِمَ تَأْخُذُ مَالَ أَخِيكَ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ؟ "

It was narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever buys fruit and it is struck by a natural disaster, he should not take anything from the buyer. By what right would you take your brother's wealth unjustly?'

أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ح وحَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِالْمُحَاقَلَةِ وَالْمُزَابَنَةِ ". قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ : الْمُحَاقَلَةُ : بَيْعُ الزَّرْعِ بِالْبُرِّ. وَقَالُوا : كَذَلِكَ يَقُولُ ابْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ

It was narrated from Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade muhaqalah (selling wheat still in the ear) and muzabanah (selling fresh dates for dried dates by estimate).

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، عَنْ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ ، قَالَ :" رَخَّصَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي بَيْعِ الْعَرَايَا بِالتَّمْرِ وَالرُّطَبِ، وَلَمْ يُرَخِّصْ فِي غَيْرِ ذَلِكَ "

It was narrated from Zayd ibn Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ granted permission for the sale of araya (allowance to sell fresh dates for dried ones), and did not grant permission for anything else.

أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ :" مَنِ ابْتَاعَ طَعَامًا، فَلَا يَبِعْهُ حَتَّى يَقْبِضَهُ "

It was narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'Whoever buys food, let him not sell it until he has taken possession of it.'

أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، عَنْ حُسَيْنٍ الْمُعَلِّمِ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْسَلَفٍ وَبَيْعٍ، وَعَنْ شَرْطَيْنِ فِي بَيْعٍ، وَعَنْ رِبْحِ مَا لَمْ يُضْمَنْ "

It was narrated from Abdullah ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade a loan combined with a sale, two conditions in one sale, and profit from what one has not yet taken responsibility for.

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ ، عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" مَنِ اشْتَرَى عَبْدًا وَلَمْ يَشْتَرِطْ مَالَهُ، فَلَا شَيْءَ لَهُ "

It was narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever buys a slave and does not stipulate that his wealth belongs to him, the wealth does not belong to him.'

أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْبَيْعَتَيْنِ، وَعَنْ لِبْسَتَيْنِ : عَنْ بَيْعِ الْمُنَابَذَةِ وَالْمُلَامَسَةِ ". قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ : الْمُنَابَذَةُ : يَرْمِي هَذَا إِلَى ذَاكَ. وَيَرْمِي ذَاكَ إِلَى هذَا. قَالَ : كَانَ هَذَا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ

It was narrated from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade two kinds of sales and two kinds of garments: the sale of munabadha (one throws to the other) and mulamasa (touch-and-buy).

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُقْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْبَيْعِ الْغَرَرِ، وَعَنْ بَيْعِ الْحَصَاةِ ". قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ : إِذَا رَمَى بِحَصًا، وَجَبَ الْبَيْعُ

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade transactions involving uncertainty and pebble-throwing transactions.

أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، وَجَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْبَيْعِ الْحَيَوَانِ بِالْحَيَوَانِ نَسِيئَةً ". ثُمَّ إِنَّ الْحَسَنَ نَسِيَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ، وَلَمْ يَقُلْ جَعْفَرٌ : ثُمَّ إِنَّ الْحَسَنَ نَسِيَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ

It was narrated from Samurah ibn Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade selling an animal for an animal on credit.

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ : مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ : اسْتَسْلَفَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَكْرًا، فَجَاءَتْ إِبِلٌ مِنْ إِبِلِ الصَّدَقَةِ. قَالَ أَبُو رَافِعٍ : فَأَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَقْضِيَ الرَّجُلَ بَكْرَهُ، فَقُلْتُ : لَمْ أَجِدْ فِي الْإِبِلِ إِلَّا جَمَلًا خِيَارًا رَبَاعِيًا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" أَعْطِهِ إِيَّاهُ، فَإِنَّ خَيْرَ النَّاسِ أَحْسَنُهُمْ قَضَاءً ". قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ : هَذَا يُقَوِّي قَوْلَ مَنْ يَقُولُ : الْحَيَوَانُ بِالْحَيَوَانِ

It was narrated from Abu Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him), client of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ borrowed a young camel. When camels from the sadaqah came, Abu Rafi' said: He commanded me to repay the man his young camel, and I said: I found nothing among the camels except a good camel of the best age. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Give it to him, for the best of people are those who repay best.'

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" لَا تَلَقَّوُا الْجَلَبَ، مَنَ تَلَقَّاهُ فَاشْتَرَى مِنْهُ شَيْئًا، فَهُوَ بِالْخِيَارِ إِذَا دَخَلَ السُّوقَ "

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Do not go out to meet the incoming goods. Whoever goes out to meet them and buys something from them, the seller has the right to cancel when he enters the market.'

أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" لَا يَبِيعُ بَعْضُكُمْ عَلَى بَيْعِ بَعْضٍ، وَلَا تَلَقَّوُا السِّلَعَ حَتَّى يُهْبَطَ بِهَا الْأَسْوَاقَ، وَلَا تَنَاجَشُوا "

It was narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Do not buy in competition with one another's purchases, do not intercept goods before they reach the market, and do not artificially inflate prices.'

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، حَدَّثَنِي الزُّهْرِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنِ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْثَمَنِ الْكَلْبِ، وَمَهْرِ الْبَغِيِّ، وَحُلْوَانِ الْكَاهِنِ "، قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ : حُلْوَانُ الْكَاهِنِ، مَا يُعْطَى عَلَى كَهَانَتِهِ

It was narrated from Abu Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the price of a dog, the earnings of a prostitute, and the payment to a soothsayer.

أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : لَمَّا نَزَلَتِ الْآيَةُ فِي آخِرِ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ فِي الرِّبَا، " خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَتَلَاهُنَّ عَلَى النَّاسِ، ثُمَّحَرَّمَ التِّجَارَةَ فِي الْخَمْرِ "

It was narrated from Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the verses about usury at the end of Surah al-Baqarah were revealed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out and recited them to the people, then he forbade trading in wine.

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : لَمَّا نَزَلَتِ الْآيَاتُ مِنْ أَوَاخِرِ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ ، " خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَاقْتَرَأَهُنَّ عَلَى النَّاسِ، ثُمَّ نَهَى عَنِالتِّجَارَةِ فِي الْخَمْرِ "

It was narrated from Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the verses from the end of Surah al-Baqarah were revealed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out and recited them to the people, then he forbade trading in wine.

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ هُوَ : ابْنُ إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ الْقَعْقَاعِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ وَعْلَةَ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ جُلُودِ الْمَيْتَةِ، فَقَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" دِبَاغُهَا طَهُورُهَا "

It was narrated that Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) was asked about the hides of dead animals. He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Their tanning is their purification.'

وَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ بَيْعِ الْخَمْرِ مِنْ أَهْلِ الذِّمَّةِ ، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ : إِنَّ لَنَا أَعْنَابًا، وَإِنَّا نَتَّخِذُ مِنْهَا هَذِهِ الْخُمُورَ فَنَبِيعُهَا مِنْ أَهْلِ الذِّمَّةِ ؟. قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ : أَهْدَى رَجُلٌ مِنْ ثَقِيفٍ أَوْ دَوْسٍ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَاوِيَةً مِنْ خَمْرٍ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَمَا عَلِمْتَ يَا أَبَا فُلَانٍ أَنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ حَرَّمَهَا؟ ". قَالَ : لَا وَاللَّهِ. قَالَ :" فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ حَرَّمَهَا ". فَالْتَفَتَ إِلَى غُلَامِهِ، فَقَالَ : اخْرُجْ بِهَا إِلَى الْحَزْوَرَةِ فَبِعْهَا، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَوَ مَا عَلِمْتَ يَا أَبَا فُلَانٍ، أَنَّ الَّذِي حَرَّمَ شُرْبَهَا، حَرَّمَ بَيْعَهَا؟ ". قَالَ : فَأَمَرَ بِهَا فَأُفْرِغَتْ فِي الْبَطْحَاءِ

Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) was asked about selling wine to the People of the Covenant (dhimmis). He said: A man from Thaqif or Daws gave the Messenger of Allah ﷺ a large skin of wine as a gift during the Farewell Pilgrimage. The Prophet ﷺ said to him: 'Did you not know, O Abu so-and-so, that Allah has forbidden it?' He said: No, by Allah. He said: 'Verily Allah has forbidden it.' He turned to his servant and said: Go sell it at al-Hazwara. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Did you not know, O Abu so-and-so, that the One who forbade drinking it also forbade selling it?' So he commanded it to be poured out in al-Batha'.

أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْبَيْعِ الْوَلَاءِ، وَعَنْ هِبَتِهِ ". قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ : الْأَمْرُ عَلَى هَذَا، لَا يُبَاعُ وَلَا يُوهَبُ

It was narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade selling the right of clientship (wala') and giving it as a gift.

أَخْبَرَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ ، قَالَ : أَعْتَقَ رَجُلٌ مِنَّا عَبْدًا لَهُ عَنْ دُبُرٍ. قَالَ :" فَدَعَا بِهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَبَاعَهُ ". قَالَ جَابِرٌ : وَإِنَّمَا مَاتَ عَامَ أَوَّلَ. قِيلَ لعَبْدِ اللَّهِ : تَقُولُ بِهِ؟. قَالَ : قَوْمُ يَقُولُونَ

It was narrated from Jabir ibn Abdullah al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man among them freed his slave upon his death (mudabbar). The Messenger of Allah ﷺ called for the slave and sold him.

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ :" إِذَا وَلَدَتْ أَمَةُ الرَّجُلِ مِنْهُ، فَهِيَ مُعْتَقَةٌ عَنْ دُبُرٍ مِنْهُ أَوْ بَعْدَهُ "

It was narrated from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'When a man's slave girl bears him a child, she is freed after his death.'

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ الْحَنَفِيُّ الْمَدَنِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ إِسْحَاق بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ : أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ :" اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَهُمْ فِي مِكْيَالِهِمْ، وَبَارِكْ لَهُمْ فِي صَاعِهِمْ وَمُدِّهِمْ "يَعْنِي : الْمَدِينَةَ

It was narrated from Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'O Allah, bless them in their measure, and bless them in their sa' and mudd' — meaning: Medina.

أَخْبَرَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، عَنْ بِلَالٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ عِنْدِي مُدُّ تَمْرٍ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَوَجَدْتُ أَطْيَبَ مِنْهُ صَاعًا بِصَاعَيْنِ، فَاشْتَرَيْتُ مِنْهُ، فَأَتَيْتُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ :" مِنْ أَيْنَ لَكَ هَذَا يَا بِلَالُ؟ ". قُلْتُ : اشْتَرَيْتُ صَاعًا بِصَاعَيْنِ. قَالَ : " رُدَّهُ وَرُدَّ عَلَيْنَا تَمْرَنَا "

It was narrated from Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I had a mudd of dates for the Prophet ﷺ, and I found a better kind, one sa' for two sa'. So I bought it and brought it to the Prophet ﷺ, who said: 'Where did you get this, O Bilal?' I said: I bought one sa' for two sa'. He said: 'Return it and return our dates to us.'

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ هُوَ : ابْنُ بِلَالٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ بْنِ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ سَعِيدَ بْنَ الْمُسَيِّبِ يُحَدِّثُ أَنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ وَأَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ حَدَّثَاهُ : أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَ أَخَا بَنِي عَدِيٍّ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ فَاسْتَعْمَلَهُ عَلَى خَيْبَرَ ، فَقَدِمَ بِتَمْرٍ جَنِيبٍ. قَالَ ابْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ : يَعْنِي : جَيِّدًا ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَكُلُّ تَمْرِ خَيْبَرَ هَكَذَا؟ ". قَالَ : لَا وَاللَّهِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنَّا لَنَشْتَرِي الصَّاعَ بِالصَّاعَيْنِ مِنَ الْجَمْعِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" لَا تَفْعَلُوا، وَلَكِنْ مِثْلًا بِمِثْلٍ، أَوْ بِيعُوا هَذَا، وَاشْتَرُوا بِثَمَنِهِ مِنْ هَذَا، وَكَذَلِكَ الْمِيزَانُ "

It was narrated from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri and Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent a man from the Ansar as governor over Khaybar, and he came with excellent janib dates. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Are all the dates of Khaybar like this?' He said: No, by Allah O Messenger of Allah, we buy one sa' for two sa' of the mixed kind. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Do not do that. But rather exchange like for like, or sell these and buy those with the price. And the same applies to weight.'

أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَوْسِ بْنِ الْحَدَثَانِ النَّصْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِي اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قالَ : سمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ :" الذَّهَبُ بِالذَّهَبِ هَاءَ وَهَاءَ، وَالْفِضَّةُ بِالْفِضَّةِ هَاءَ وَهَاءَ، وَالتَّمْرُ بِالتَّمْرِ هَاءَ وَهَاءَ، وَالْبُرُّ بِالْبُرِّ هَاءَ وَهَاءَ، وَالشَّعِيرُ بِالشَّعِيرِ هَاءَ وَهَاءَ، وَلَا فَضْلَ بَيْنَهُمَا "

It was narrated from Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Gold for gold hand to hand, silver for silver hand to hand, dates for dates hand to hand, wheat for wheat hand to hand, barley for barley hand to hand — and there is no excess between them.'

أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدٌ ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَشْعَثِ الصَّنْعَانِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَامَ أنَاسٌ فِي إِمَارَةِ مُعَاوِيَةَ يَبِيعُونَ آنِيَةَ الذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ إِلَى الْعَطَاءِ. فَقَامَ عُبَادَةُ بْنُ الصَّامِتِ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى عَنْبَيْعِ الذَّهَبِ بِالذَّهَبِ، وَالْفِضَّةِ بِالْفِضَّةِ، وَالْبُرِّ بِالْبُرِّ، وَالتَّمْرِ بِالتَّمْرِ، وَالشَّعِيرِ بِالشَّعِيرِ، وَالْمِلْحِ بِالْمِلْحِ إِلَّا مِثْلًا بِمِثْلٍ سَوَاءً بِسَوَاءٍ، فَمَنْ زَادَ أَوْ ازْدَادَ، فَقَدْ أَرْبَى "

It was narrated from Ubadah ibn al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade selling gold for gold, silver for silver, wheat for wheat, dates for dates, barley for barley, and salt for salt — except like for like, equal for equal. Whoever adds or asks for addition has committed usury.

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ جُرَيْر ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي يَزِيدَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ : أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ :" إِنَّمَا الرِّبَا فِي الدَّيْنِ ". قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ : مَعْنَاهُ : دِرْهَمٌ بِدِرْهَمَيْنِ

It was narrated from Usama ibn Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Usury only applies to transactions on credit.'
