أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ

، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : لَمَّا نَزَلَتِ الْآيَةُ فِي آخِرِ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ فِي الرِّبَا، " خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَتَلَاهُنَّ عَلَى النَّاسِ، ثُمَّحَرَّمَ التِّجَارَةَ فِي الْخَمْرِ "

English Translation

It was narrated from Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the verses about usury at the end of Surah al-Baqarah were revealed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out and recited them to the people, then he forbade trading in wine.
