أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ هُوَ : ابْنُ بِلَالٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ بْنِ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ سَعِيدَ بْنَ الْمُسَيِّبِ يُحَدِّثُ أَنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ وَأَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ حَدَّثَاهُ : أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَ أَخَا بَنِي عَدِيٍّ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ فَاسْتَعْمَلَهُ عَلَى خَيْبَرَ ، فَقَدِمَ بِ
تَمْرٍ جَنِيبٍ. قَالَ ابْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ : يَعْنِي : جَيِّدًا ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَكُلُّ تَمْرِ خَيْبَرَ هَكَذَا؟ ". قَالَ : لَا وَاللَّهِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنَّا لَنَشْتَرِي الصَّاعَ بِالصَّاعَيْنِ مِنَ الْجَمْعِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" لَا تَفْعَلُوا، وَلَكِنْ مِثْلًا بِمِثْلٍ، أَوْ بِيعُوا هَذَا، وَاشْتَرُوا بِثَمَنِهِ مِنْ هَذَا، وَكَذَلِكَ الْمِيزَانُ "

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri and Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent a man from the Ansar as governor over Khaybar, and he came with excellent janib dates. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Are all the dates of Khaybar like this?' He said: No, by Allah O Messenger of Allah, we buy one sa' for two sa' of the mixed kind. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Do not do that. But rather exchange like for like, or sell these and buy those with the price. And the same applies to weight.'
