أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَنْبأَنَا هِشَامٌ الدَّسْتَوَائِيُّ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ ثَوْبَانَ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ" يُصَلِّي عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ نَحْوَ الْمَشْرِقِ، فَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ الْمَكْتُوبَةَ، نَزَلَ فَاسْتَقْبَلَ الْقِبْلَةَ "
English Translation
It was narrated from Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed fear prayer (salat al-khawf) with one group who came facing the enemy, while another group guarded. He prayed one rak'ah with the first group and they departed; the second group came and he prayed one rak'ah with them; each group completed their prayer on their own.
