Arabic Text
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ الرَّبِيعِ هُوَ ابْنُ صَبِيحٍ الْبَصْرِيُّ ، قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ الْحَسَنَ " يُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَالْإِمَامُ يَخْطُبُ ". وَقَالَ الْحَسَنُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ
صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" إِذَا جَاءَ أَحَدُكُمْ وَالْإِمَامُ يَخْطُبُ، فَلْيُصَلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ يَتَجَوَّزُ فِيهِمَا ". قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّد : أَقُولُ بِهِ

English Translation
It was narrated from Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When one of you comes while the imam is giving the khutbah, let him pray two brief rak'ahs, performing them concisely.'
