حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مِنْهَالٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمَّارٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَيَخْطُبُ إ
ِلَى جِذْعٍ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَتَّخِذَ الْمِنْبَرَ، فَلَمَّا اتَّخَذَ الْمِنْبَرَ، تَحَوَّلَ إِلَيْهِ، حَنَّ الْجِذْعُ فَاحْتَضَنَهُ فَسَكَنَ، وَقَالَ : " لَوْ لَمْ أَحْتَضِنْهُ، لَحَنَّ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ ". حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، مِثْلَهُ

English Translation
It was narrated from a companion (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to lean against a tree trunk before the pulpit was made. When the pulpit was made, he moved to it and the trunk cried out with longing. He embraced it and said: 'Had I not embraced it, it would have cried out until the Day of Resurrection.'
