أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ الْحَكَمِ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، قَالَ :" أَرْسَلَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ إِلَى ز
َيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ : أَتَجِدُ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ لِلْأُمِّ ثُلُثُ مَا بَقِي؟ فَقَالَ زَيْدٌ : إِنَّمَا أَنْتَ رَجُلٌ تَقُولُ بِرَأْيِكَ، وَأَنَا رَجُلٌ أَقُولُ بِرَأْيِي "

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Ikrima that he said: 'Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) sent to Zayd ibn Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him): Do you find in the Book of Allah that the mother receives a third of what remains? Zayd replied: You are a man who speaks according to your own opinion, and I am a man who speaks according to my own opinion.'
